Most of the planned entertainment for the Olympics and Paralympics ceremonies have been kept secret, however, R&B Singer Aya Nakamura was confirmed by French President Emmanuel Macron earlier this year. Ceremony artistic director Thomas Jolly expressed his desire to showcase the diversity of France, but has refrained from revealing any specifics.
He mentioned to the Associated Press, “All I can say is that it will hold great significance for the performing artists.” A total of 3,000 artists, including several hundred dancers, are scheduled to participate in the opening and closing ceremonies. Daphne Burki, a judge on “Drag Race France,” has been appointed as the costume designer for the events.
