Little else will make baseball be exciting than seeing the Padres face off with the Dodgers. On Friday night, the San Diego Padres faced off against their NL West rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers, for the first time this season. Behind a strong performance from Fernando Tatis Jr., the Padres were able to chase Clayton Kershaw out of the game in the fifth inning and ultimately win the game 5-2 at Petco Park.

Tatis hit a solo home run off Kershaw in the third inning, and then added a two-run homer in the fifth. He now has 15 career home runs in 38 games against the Dodgers, and has hit four home runs in just seven at-bats against Kershaw.

Meanwhile, Kershaw struggled on the mound, walking five batters in just 4 2/3 innings, which was his first such performance since August 1, 2019. He was charged with four runs on eight hits and five walks. However, you do have former Dodger Yu Darvish who had a strong outing for the Padres, holding them to just two runs in 6 2/3 innings and then retiring 14 consecutive batters. This is definitely enough action to keep those into baseball betting busy.

Tatis recently returned from an 80-game performance-enhancing drug suspension, and has hit .267/.302/.500 with four homers in his 13 games back with the team. Of course, the Padres have gone 9-4 in those 13 games. The Padres improved to 18-15 on the season with Friday’s win, while the Dodgers remain in first place in the NL West with a record of 19-14. These two teams will play six more times over the next 10 days. If you want to win big from betting in the MLB, check out these sportsbook reviews.
