The Big Ten Baseball Tournament will grow as the Big Ten Conference grows. By 2025, the competition will include 12 teams and a new format will also be introduced with that expansion.
In the earlier version, two four-team double-elimination brackets accommodated the eight qualifying teams. The champions from each bracket were featured in a winner-take-all final.
The new system would guarantee two games for every qualifying club but eliminate the bracket until the semifinals. The twelve teams would be divided into four groups of three. A single-elimination tournament would determine the champions of each pod.
This means more games to bet on for baseball fans.
