On Thursday, the House of Representatives of Mississippi passed House Bill 774, which, with the Senate's approval and the governor's signature, would authorize online sports betting within the state.
A law that would legalize online sports betting and mandate that cell providers enter contracts with brick-and-mortar gambling establishments like casinos was approved by a vote of 97 to 14. The Internet wagering platforms are exclusive to Mississippi residents.
