There will be a monumental shift in North Carolina's approach to sports betting beginning in March. House Bill 347, which Governor Roy Cooper signed into law in June 2023, will make it legal for residents of the state to wager on sports online for the first time on March 11, 2024.

It is good that North Carolina residents can bet sports online starting next month. However, the operators must partner with tribes to operate an online sportsbook in the state.
