This summer, we got a lot of extra sports events  like the Paris Olympic and the Copa America Cup. I dont expect to make too  much money from either of these events but worth marketing to my players. The problem I have is that with the NBA finals, MLB and other sports, I dont want to over spam my players. and will let them know about each event and make a promo for each but which event would increase my betting handle?

So, 2024 Paris Summer Olympic or 2024 Copa America Cup?

You can always make a generic promo if you want to. But for a specific event, I'd go for the Olympics since this only happens every 4 years and thus, an exciting event for bettors. The Copa America is always there, and known to those who bet on soccer anyway.

Good question Aiden. The answer is actually much simpler then you think as it all comes down to knowing your players. If your sportsbook pay per head software has it, pull a report to see what percentage of your players bets on the NBA and soccer. If you get a decent percentage, them you probably should give them a promo for the NBA playoffs and the copa america.

The Olympics is worth doing as you could get a lot of people that like the Olympics but not gamblers as new clients. What I am currently doing is having a referral program where I am giving out free olympic future bet for both the person that refers the friend and for the friend to get them started. The trick to the promo is that they need to roll it over 3x before they can take a payout on it if they win.

ask me anything you want about opening a sportsbook and How to Become a bookie

I agree with Steel here and would recommend to get a report on your sportsbook then go from there. Its always more efficient to create sales and marketing campaigns based on what your players like to bet on.

There are also ways where you can offer certain events without being spammy to your players. Do you contact them via email or is it just through messages? You can create a promo ad that is very short but has details- state what the promos are, which sports/events, and the details of the promo or bonus. That way, it comes off as a general announcement or ad without feeling like you are spamming your players.

Getting insights on the sports betting industry from the bookie point of view never ends. Its how we get better.

I'd imagine the Olympics would be interesting especially if you have new bettors who have not yet tried betting on the Olympics..

The good news is that Copa America and the Olympics will not overlap. The finals of the Copa America will be on July 14, and the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics will be on July 26. Thus, you can run promos for the Olympics right after the final match of the Copa America.

I am a veteran bookie who not only likes to take bets but also write article where I give a bookie point of view on various sports betting and gambling topics.
